Course Title: Black History & Cultural Education

Course Description:

 This course offers an in-depth exploration of the rich history, cultural contributions, and enduring legacy of Black people in America and around the world. Participants will trace the journey from African civilizations to the African diaspora, examining key historical events, leaders, movements, and cultural expressions that have shaped society.


Through engaging discussions, multimedia resources, and interactive activities, learners will deepen their understanding of how Black history intersects with issues of social justice, identity, and civic life today. The course emphasizes celebrating achievements, recognizing struggles, and inspiring continued progress toward equity and inclusion.

  •  Pre-colonial African civilizations and cultures
  •  The transatlantic slave trade and its global impact
  •  The Civil Rights Movement and leaders of change
  •  Black excellence in art, music, literature, science, and politics
